2020 has thrown us all a curveball but we don’t have to let that put a damper on learning! Math centers in kindergarten can still be FUN and ENGAGING. Though my time is being spent outside of the traditional classroom, that hasn’t stopped me from making interactive learning activities for all the kindergarteners- both in school and at home! Why Should I Use Digital Kindergarten Math Station Activities?

Are you in a distance learning mode? Hybrid? Kindergarten math games that are digital, DO NOT use manipulatives which can be germy, AND kids can still interact with the digital pieces. All Kindergarteners who have the right technology can have tons of fun with digital task cards.

Creating Kindergarten Math Center Activities

At home I have several little assistants! They are 6, 4, and 2. My inspiration comes from them. These math center activities are developed and tested on my own little learners! Inspired by my daughters love of unicorns, she helped me develop this adorable math station activity (which also happens to be a FREEBIE)!

How Can I Use These Math Centers?

These digital task cards are set up using Google slides but can be used on many platforms. Google Classroom, Seesaw, Canvas, or any other platform that integrates with Google. I’ve also made similar task cards in Boom Learning. If you haven’t heard of Boom Cards, read about them here!

I personally love using these as an assessment and many teachers have told me that they do the same. You can assign these task cards as a kindergarten math station activity and then see how your students did! It will give you an idea if they are grasping a concept or if they need some more work!

Our Experience

While I’m not in the classroom, my little learners completed these assignments during our technology time. My 6 year old loved how they were interactive. Most things were practice for her but she still enjoyed “playing the math games.” These were a little tricky for my son who just turned 4 but with some support, he was able to quickly pick up on some of the concepts! Overall, these kindergarten math center activities proved to be meaningful and fun in our classroom at home.
